Prometheus 2 Script Is In The Works Says Noomi Rapace

Say what you want about Prometheus. Go ahead, I’ll give you a minute. I know it’s a bit of a controversial film. When you’re done though, come back to reading this article because we have some very exciting news concerning Ridley Scott’s hotly debated movie.

Though it caused a bit of a stir when it was released last year, with some hating it and some loving it, Prometheus will be receiving a sequel in the form of Prometheus 2, or at least that’s what it’s being called right now.

Details on the film are still pretty slim but today, while doing the press rounds for Dead Man Down, Noomi Rapace spoke briefly on the sequel and where they are at with it.

“They’re working on the script. I met Ridley in London a couple of weeks ago. I would love to work with him again and I know that he would like to do another one. It’s just like we need to find the right story. I hope we will. I love working with Ridley. It was pure joy,” she said. “It was really hard work sometimes. My body was a complete mess – I had bruises and cuts and emotionally I was a bit slammed. But being in his world and his universe was such an amazing experience. And it’s interesting because people, most people I’ve talked to who see the movie, see things that are quite different. Some people who see the movie many times and discover new things. There are all these religious aspects and there are very interesting conversations,” Rapace explained. “And for me, if we do a second one, there are a lot of things to explore in there and to continue.” She added: ” I would love to do it.”

So there you have it, the script is being worked on. Of course, it’s unknown who the writer on the film will be since Damon Lindelof won’t be returning. But rest assured that the studio has likely hired a talented scribe to make sense of all the riddles and questions posed in the first film. Or at least we hope.

Personally, I’m very excited for Prometheus 2. Despite it’s plot holes and whatnot, I loved Prometheus and I’m also a big fan of Ridley Scott. I think he got a lot of things right with Prometheus and it was easily one of my favourite films of 2012.

There are so many things that they can do with the sequel and though I’m not expecting it to answer everything, if they can expand the universe they already have in place, and build upon the various theories and ideas presented in the first film, then we could be in for something really special.

What do you guys think? Looking forward to Prometheus 2? Let us know in the comments below.

Yes! I am excited as well! And there were no plot holes. They simply did not tell the audience everything flat out to keep the sense of mystery. Other Science fiction films take note!
We need more Prometheus — and LESS Green Lantern, Darkest Hour, Transformers :) true scifi

I’m also looking forward to it. It had such an open ending and there is so much more to explore in this universe of his that I’m still looking for some answers here. :)

It was open ended because there was no plan.

There will be no answers. They’ll have 2 sequels and at the end you’ll be nowhere.

Be sure to come back and read this once the third film is out. You can congratulate me then.

Every ounce of substance people pulled from the film they did so with their imagination. This isn’t because it was a well thought out film but because that is what. people. do.

We find patterns, we pull meaning from the meaningless, we are built to dream and to imagine.

Effectively Prometheus is a giant snowy static image that people parsed dogs, and wolves, and unicorns from. Almost none of it was intended and by the end of this that reality will be revealed.

Had Michael Fassbender not been in the film there would have been nothing of value. He was the only shining moment in the entire thing, turning a horribly written character into something actually interesting.

Just wondering what you considered “plot holes”? I thoroughly enjoyed “Prometheus”. The complaints I have read about it seem to come mainly from people who have a need to have everything explained or revealed to them.

I will watch Prometheus 2 if they fire whoever wrote the characters… I mean seriously…

a mapping guy who gets lost
a xenobiologist who tries to pet a hissing eel with teeth
Archaeologists with no patience or reverence for archological sites
a stereotypical billionaire villan who is looking for the fountain of youth.. but can’t seem to stay in chryo-sleep long enough for them to iron out the kinks..
An evil android who does “experiments” the way a five year old does by putting black ooze in someones drink…..

None of these characters made any sense whatsoever. They all behaved like teenagers on “the real world alpha-centurai”. I can suspend my disbelief only so far.
