Ronda Rousey is an incredible UFC fighter, and while she continues to dominate the Octagon, she’s now looking to take a page out of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s book by taking over Hollywood. After minor roles in everything from The Expendables 3 to Furious 7, Rousey has joined the planned Road House remake in the leading role and lined up a number of other projects.

Earlier this year, however, she revealed an interest in taking on the role of Captain Marvel in the upcoming Marvel Studios movie. While it initially appeared to be one of those things which would never happen but made for an interesting discussion, Kevin Feige surprisingly acknowledged her interest and backed her campaign by stating, “I love it. That happens occasionally, and I think that’s a testament more to the strength of the characters.”

It ultimately seems unlikely that Rousey will end up starring in Captain Marvel, but you have to give her credit for not giving up and making it her goal to be at least considered for the role.

“I’m really looking forward to doing my first starring role opposite Mark Wahlberg. Hopefully by the time Captain Marvel comes around, I will have enough experience and skills in the field for them to really seriously consider me.”

You can’t fault Rousey for that, and even if it’s not as Captain Marvel, seeing her in a future Marvel or DC Comics movie would be very cool. Of course, as her schedule gets busier and busier (outside of Rousey’s movie projects, she has a big fight next month and is rumoured to be fighting at next year’s WrestleMania), it could be some time before we see that become a reality.
