Can you feel it? It’s almost here. J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness is so close that we can almost taste it. May 17th is the release date ladies and gents and though we have it marked prominently in our calendars, Paramount wants to ensure that you have done so too.

Released today are a handful of new promo materials for the film. First up is a TV spot, which doesn’t show much in the way of new footage but is still very tantalizing. It again teases the tense relationship between Benedict Cumberbatch’s John Harrison and Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk, who look to be going head to head in an explosive fashion. I can’t wait to see the two square off when the film is released.

In addition to the spot, we also get a new banner and poster. Neither are terribly special but I dig the minimal design that they’ve opted for on the poster. It’s nice and sleek and is a cool piece of promo material.

As great as this marketing campaign has been, I’ve seen all I need to see. I’m ready for Abrams’ next sci-fi adventure. In fact, I’ve been ready ever since the first film came out back in 2009. Enough with the trailers, spots and posters already, just give us the damn film. I can’t wait any longer.

Star Trek Into Darkness stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Benedict Cumberbatch Anton Yelchin and John Cho. It will beam into theatres on May 17th, 2013. Check out all the new promo material below and let us know what you think in the comments.

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated everything the fleet stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a “one man weapon of mass destruction.”
