David Oyelowo is the latest actor to join the ridiculously stacked cast of Steven Spielberg‘s upcoming biopic, Lincoln, chronicling Abraham Lincoln’s guiding of the North to victory in the Civil War.

Oyelowo has been added as a cavalryman in the film, building upon a cast that already includes Daniel Day-Lewis (Lincoln), Sally Field (Mary Todd Lincoln), Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tommy Lee Jones, John Hawkes, and David Strathairn.

Recently, David Oyelowo co-starred with James Franco in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, where you may recall that he played Franco’s ambitious but pushy boss. Oyelowo also had roles in such acclaimed films as The Help and The Last King of Scotland.

As if the very idea of a Steven Spielberg-directed Abraham Lincoln biopic wasn’t enough to get your attention, the constantly growing, A-list cast surely will.
