Suicide Squad Director Reveals Which DC Villain Didn’t Make The Cut

Ferocious DC supervillain King Shark has been menacing The Flash and his pals on the small screen recently, but there was a time when the character was rumored to make an appearance in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. A mainstay of the team in most incarnations of the comic, it was generally assumed that he’d at least make some sort of cameo in the Warner Bros. film.

Well, it turns out he very nearly did – and was actually considered as a card carrying member of Task Force X.

During a Twitter Q&A, Ayer revealed that at one point he was thinking about adding the monstrous baddie to the Squad, but decided against it due to budgetary concerns.

One of the characters I was thinking about for the squad line-up was King Shark, but we realised it would take a lot of work – a lot of CG work. We actually ended up going with Killer Croc who turned out to be the right guy for the job.

Ah well – if the movie turns out to be as big a success as it’s predicted to be, there’s a good chance King Shark will show up in the sequel.

Suicide Squad hits theatres on August 5th and stars Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Ben Affleck, Cara Delevingne and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, among others.
