After all, X-Men: Apocalypse is going to have its work cut out for it considering the fact the movie opens just a couple of weeks after Captain America: Civil War. That latest effort from Marvel looks set to break box office records, so trying to win over fans by showing something off as big as this is a calculated risk that the studio is no doubt hoping will pay off in a major way.

Whether or not it will remains to be seen, but in the TV spot above, we get a new look at Tye Sheridan suited as Cyclops in a costume which should be instantly familiar to comic book readers.

X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer has made it clear in the past that he’s a fan of the X-Men Animated Series, and this is the same look that the hero had there too, so it’s more than likely where the filmmaker got the bulk of his inspiration from. Regardless, the young actor looks like he’s stepped right out of the source material, and he’ll hopefully be one of the highlights in X-Men: Apocalypse when it releases next month.
