A second trailer has released for Goon, a comedy starring Seann William Scott as a rough and tough bouncer turned hockey player. The film is directed by Michael Dowse, co-written by Jay Baruchel and Evan Goldberg, and co-starring Liev Schreiber, Baruchel, and Alison Pill.
At first glance, a hockey comedy starring Seann William Scott of American Pie fame doesn’t sound too promising, but the trailer actually looks really dark and funny. Goon even played at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it received mostly positive reviews.
I’ve always found Seann William Scott to be pretty likable, regardless of how much I disliked some of his films, like the modern-day classic Mr. Woodcock. Plus, Schreiber and Pill are pretty reliable when it comes to which films they take, and the screenwriting team of Baruchel and Goldberg is promising at the least.
