Continuing to parade Paramount’s robots in disguise one by one, director Michael Bay has posted another Transformers: The Last Knight pic, this time focusing on series stalwart Bumblebee.
The “loyal guardian and scout” that has featured all throughout Paramount’s live-action series is in line for a slight makeover, too, with Bumblebee’s battle helmet in particular shaping up to be fairly different compared to previous iterations. In the move, The Last Knight will have Bumblebee morph into a slick 2016 Camaro.
Here’s a body shot of Optimus Prime’s second-in-command:
If it’s Transformers schematics you’re looking for, Bay’s Twitter feed has served up an embarrassment of riches over the past fortnight or so, with Hot Rod, Onslaught, Hound and Megatron all receiving the spotlight. There’s still room in Paramount’s roster for Barricade, Drift and the cutesy Autobot known as Sqweeks, which are all set to feature in the 2017 sequel.
Heralding the beginning of a shared Transformers universe, it’s believed that the 2018 spinoff will revolve around Bumblebee, though the studio is still to make that one officially official.
Pegged to land on June 23, 2017, Transformers: The Last Knight welcomes the return of Mark Wahlberg following his stint in Age of Extinction, headlining a cast of old and new faces that includes Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Anthony Hopkins, and Peter Cullen.
