Axwell has taken to releasing some tracks on his own as well, like his single “Barricade” that came out earlier in the year. Now, he’s enlisted the help of rising Russian producer Shapov to deliver a powerful dance anthem titled “Belong.”

“Belong” opens with a catchy synth melody that sets the stage for what’s to come. Axwell and Shapov hold back on the drums throughout a lengthy intro, filling the mix with a rising chord sequence and soaring vocals. The drops feature pounding club beats and a nostalgic synth lead that hail back to the glory days of progressive house.

Axwell‘s latest effort expands on the sound he helped bring to the masses as one third of Swedish House Mafia, and fans will be pleased to have a new single in a similar style as their classic work.
