Fans eager for the March 8 return of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have a new hint as to the threats (or potential support) surrounding the team in the last half of this season’s run of episodes. The Absorbing Man, aka Carl “Crusher” Creel (Brian Patrick Wade) will be making a return to the show in 2016.

Creel was last seen in the second season fighting against all of our favorite agents, but a new hint this time around means he may be switching loyalties this year. It will apparently be “unclear if he will be a friend or foe to the S.H.I.E.L.D. team.” When he first fought S.H.I.E.L.D. (or its remnants), Creel was an agent of Hydra that eventually met his fate incarcerated and handed over to General Talbot (Adrian Pasdar).

In the mid-season premiere, Coulson and the team are readying for a final match between the evil Hydra, but they’ve yet to discover Ward’s new dark secret.

A synopsis for the episode, entitled “Bouncing Back,” can be found below:

In the aftermath of his trip to Maveth, Coulson is more determined than ever to get to Gideon Malick and put an end to Hydra once and for all. Daisy and the team encounter more Inhumans who have powers like they’ve never seen before, but will they be friends or enemies of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

President Ellis (William Sadler) will be making a return to the MCU in the new run of episodes, and we’ll also be seeing the introduction of Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez (Natalie Cordova-Buckley). She’s apparently playing the Secret Warrior character “Slingshot.”
