Arrow Casting Deathstroke’s Son, Felicity May Start Her Own Company

I think it's safe to say that I wasn't the only fan of Arrow who was extremely happy to see Manu Bennett return as Slade Wilson in season 5's finale. Having capably played the mercenary as both ally and nemesis to Oliver Queen throughout the show's first two seasons, he's undoubtedly been one of the more memorable actors to have come through the door.

I think it’s safe to say that I wasn’t the only fan of Arrow who was extremely happy to see Manu Bennett return as Slade Wilson in season 5’s finale. That being said, it’s doubly exciting to hear that Deathstroke will be a recurring character in season 6, with a two-part arc set to be devoted to him. And with flashbacks reportedly being said to be key to that thread, it stands to reason that we may very well gain some insight into Slade’s family.

As you may recall, Oliver promised to help Wilson find his son in the concluding episode of season 5, something that we fully expect to pay off in the coming year. According to TV Line, the casting department are currently “seeking an Aussie lad to fill the guest-starring role of an ‘introverted, moody and naturally athletic’ teenager.”

If we were to wager a guess, they’re about to cast Joseph Wilson AKA Jericho. After all, Legends of Tomorrow already featured a Grant Wilson who took up the mantle of Deathstroke in the year 2046 in its first season, so assuming that any details from that possible future pan out, we’re not expecting yet another take on him.

In related news, it’s starting to look like Felicity may finally start her own tech company, something that’s been teased on both Arrow and Legends. Here’s what executive producer Marc Guggenheim had to offer on that front:

“That was something we wanted to do last year, and then we got sort of seduced by the Helix storyline. I would say that people wanting that storyline will be happy, but for reasons that I think will be very obvious, it can’t be called Smoak Technologies. And all those clever readers who are like, ‘That’s because she’ll be changing her last name to Queen,’ it’s not Queen Technologies, either.”

Arrow returns for its sixth season on Thursday, October 12 on The CW.
