Deadline is reporting that Djimon Hounsou has been set to co-star opposite Jason Patric in the second season of Fox’s Wayward Pines.

The actor is set to play CJ Mitchum, who’s an “original resident of Wayward Pines and a historian for the town with extensive knowledge of its complex origins. He’s the the one person who can provide a unique bridge between the current world of Wayward Pines and the previous world that humans inhabited.”

Set to pick up where the first season left off, when Wayward Pines returns we’ll see a rebellion brewing between the residents of the titular town and the First Generation. Mitchum will play a key role here, as he’ll make a decision that will affect everyone in Wayward Pines.

No further details have been revealed, but we’re certainly excited to see where the show heads in its sophomore outing. Though the first season spoiled its big twist a bit too early, it was still able to finish off on a strong note and as of now, we’re eager to find out more about the twisted town’s secrets.

Wayward Pines returns to Fox this Summer.
