The CW has released the first official description for the February 16th episode of The Flash, and it sheds some light on what’s to come for Barry Allen and company after they pay a visit to Earth-2. This is actually the second part of the story (details on “Welcome to Earth-2” can be found here), and it sounds like there will be a lot of surprising twists and turns.

For further details, here’s the synopsis in full courtesy of the network (the episode is titled “Escape from Earth-2”).

THE EXCITING CONCLUSION TO THE EARTH-2 JOURNEY – On Earth-2, the team races to find Zoom’s lair and asks for help from the most unexpected source. Meanwhile, back on Earth-1, Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) rushes to perfect Velocity-9 so that Jay (guest star Teddy Sears) can stop the Geomancer (guest star Adam Stafford). J.J. Makaro directed the episode with story by Todd Helbing & Aaron Helbing and teleplay by David Kob.

It’s obviously going to be exciting to see The Flash and company attempting to track down Zoom on Earth-2, though it’s the mention of Velocity 9 which is really attention grabbing here. In the comics, that was a drug created by Vandal Savage to give people super-speed, but it came with a lot of negative side effects and ultimately led to the user’s death.

Could the same happen to Jay Garrick? We’ll have to wait and see, but this is definitely shaping up to be a blockbuster episode of The Flash, that’s for sure.
