Anyone well-versed in the superhero genre knows by now that returning villains are a staple. The Dominators, who will be making their first appearance on tonight’s episode of The Flash, are certainly no exception to the rule. In fact, we recently learned they will continue to cause headaches for Supergirl.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg recently dropped the bomb at a screening of the DC TV crossover in Los Angeles (via ComicBook.com):

“This is not the last you see of the Dominators. The Dominators will return on Supergirl later this season.”

Seeing the invaders return so soon is a bit of a surprise, but we have to wonder if they’re the same Dominators that appear in the crossover. Unless they have the ability to cross dimensional barriers, they could be those that inhabit Supergirl’s specific universe, as opposed to the ones plaguing the Arrowverse (Earth-1).

On that very note, Todd Helbing, executive producer on The Flash, finally divulged where Supergirl resides in the featurette embedded above: Earth-38. With Barry Allen having visited Earths 2 and soon 3, along with now being associated with a Harrison Wells originating from Earth-19, it’s pretty interesting to see them select seemingly random universe designates to cull from as opposed to counting in succession. It gives us a vast multiverse reminiscent of the comics and makes us wonder just what else is yet to be explored.

Supergirl airs on Mondays on The CW.
