The Guardian Is Back In New Supergirl Promo Images

Back in season 2, Supergirl writers aimed to spice up James Olsen's character by having him take up crime-fighting under the guise of Guardian. However, fans didn't take to the change much and it seems the writers themselves got bored of the development. In season 3, James hasn't suited up once as the chrome-domed vigilante. Well, at least until now, that is.

In the upcoming eleventh episode, titled “For Good,” Mehcad Brooks’ character will finally step out from behind his desk at CatCo to dish out some justice as Guardian once again. As these new promo images from the outing reveal, he’ll suit up to take on corrupt businessman Morgan Edge (Adrian Pasdar), who’s been causing trouble in National City since the season premiere.

The synopsis for the episode, which airs in a couple of weeks, also reveals that Lena will again be dealing with her good and dark sides as Edge returns, causing Supergirl – and Guardian, it looks like – to step in. Elsewhere, Sam’s secret identity as the villainous Reign is in danger of being revealed, as she grows closer to Alex.

MORGAN EDGE THREATENS LENA – Someone tries to kill Morgan Edge (guest star Adrian Pasdar) and he barely survives. He accuses Lena (Katie McGrath) of being behind the attempt and vows to destroy her. When Lena fears her hatred for Morgan will take her to the Luthor dark side, Kara (Melissa Benoist) steps in to help her friend. Meanwhile, after Sam (Odette Annable) realizes she’s losing time, she confides in Alex (Chyler Leigh) who decides to run some medical tests to see if she can find out what’s going on with her new friend. Tawnia McKiernan directed the episode with story by Robert Rovner and teleplay by Cindy Lichtman & Alix Sternberg (#312). Original airdate 1/29/18.
