With Robbie Amell not set to star in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, but Victor Garber’s Dr. Martin Stein and Firestorm clearly present, fans have been wondering how the character will be included. Well, as was previously rumoured, the video above confirms that Franz Drameh’s Jay Jackson (a newly created character) will be the new Firestorm.

How that’s going to be explained obviously remains to be seen, but there’s a chance that he could be playing Jason Rusch (the other Firestorm from the comics who made a brief appearance in season one of The Flash, but didn’t make a big enough impact to necessarily avoid potentially being recast). We’re just going to have to wait and see though.

Season two of The Flash picks up months after the Singularity attacked Central City, as Barry is still struggling to forgive himself for Eddie’s death. Concerned about putting his friends in danger, Barry has pushed everyone away and has chosen to protect the city on his own. When a meta-human named Atom Smasher attacks the city, Iris tells our protagonist that he needs to let his friends help him protect the citizens of Central City. Meanwhile, Cisco helps Joe with his Meta Task Force.

The Flash returns to The CW on October 6th with “The Man Who Saved Central City.”
