First Look Promo For Supernatural Season 11, Episode 10: “The Devil In The Details”

The CW has released the first promo video for the mid-season premiere of Supernatural, "The Devil in the Details," which can be viewed above. After bearing witness to what was quite possibly the most grandiose mid-season finale in the history of the show, fans may agree that whatever Lucifer has in store for Sam may not be as torturous as having to wait to see what comes next. Such is the nature of great cliffhangers.

Speaking of what’s next for Sam and Dean Winchester, it seems the network has decided to shroud that in mystery and instead largely focuses the promo video on supporting characters, which is in no way a bad thing.

Spotlighting the show’s irreverent brand of humor, we see Crowley and Rowena celebrating Christmas (in a January episode, no less) with Crowley receiving a Funko Pop Vinyl figure of Sam. I have to admit that Lucifer in a Santa suit should make for some interesting TV.

Although that particular scene could very well be some kind of fantasy, we will indeed gain more insight into the Crowley/Rowena family.

Recently, actress Ruth Connell revealed the following in an interview with Nerdist:

We’ll see some more backstory in episode 10. There were some things that I just imagined for Rowena’s backstory and now we literally see what I’ve always imagined. I love that the fans are going to get to find out her and why she is the way she is. We get to go to some really emotional places.

Considering that pieces of Rowena’s backstory were only hinted at last season, it will be a treat to see them finally go into further detail, especially since we have not seen the character much this season. Given the events of last night’s episode and what we know now, it looks like she will play a more vital role going forward.

Supernatural airs Wednesday nights on The CW at 9:00 pm EST, with new episodes returning on January 20.
