Fans have had a long wait since last season of FX’s hit biker drama Sons of Anarchy, but the premiere of season seven is only a couple months away now. As nice as it will be for fans to reunite with their favorite characters after the shocking season finale last year, it’s also going to be a bittersweet moment since it’ll be the last time viewers will get to visit Charming.

Sons of Anarchy is the highest-rated series in FX history, and although the network has a number of great shows in their portfolio, the loss of SOA is going to leave a giant hole in their programming.

Today, the network has announced that the final season of Sons of Anarchy will debut on September 9 at 10/9 PM with an extended episode. The first episode of the season will last for an hour and forty-five minutes and be followed by a live webisode of Anarchy Afterward, the popular after-show that premiered online last season featuring members of the cast and crew.

Kurt Sutter has added some interesting new characters to the mix for the final season of Sons of Anarchy. Shock-rocker Marilyn Manson will be playing a white supremacist prison shot caller who Jax (Charlie Hunnam) is going to use to elevate his status and expand his business interests, while Courtney Love joined to cast as the pre-school teacher of Jax’s eldest son, Abel. Fans can also look forward to plenty of drama with Tara’s (Maggie Siff) brutal murder leaving a bitter taste in everyone’s mouth.

Is Jax still heading back to prison? How far will Juice (Theo Rossi) go to protect Gemma (Katey Sagal)? These are all questions that fans want answered, and hopefully Sutter will deliver.

Let us know what you’re most excited about seeing on the final season of Sons of Anarchy!
