The award was given by Warner Bros. Pictures’ Chairman Toby Emmerich, after the presentation of Johnson’s DECU film Black Adam and DC League of Super Pets. According to a tweet by AMC Theatres, Johnson was recognized by both CinemaCon and Warner Bros Pictures for his accomplishments in the past 10 years as well as for his partnership as a producer and actor in the upcoming film.

Emmerich later praised Johnson for being “the best partner” a movie studio could ever have and acknowledged the former wrestler’s upcoming 50th birthday on May 2. In his speech, Johnson commended the production house for the teamwork and added that “they’ve done good business together.”

“It’s always a team effort and we all play a pivotal, critical role in all that we do. We all have done business together over the years and we’ve made some good money which is always important and more important than that, we have entertained and made people feel good all over the world.”

Johnson has starred in numerous films prior to his DCEU debut. He is currently a part of the TV series on NBC titled Young Rock, which is based on his life. The actor is also credited for breathing life in the rebooted Jumanji franchise and was a recurring cast member in the Fast and Furious film series before leading the spin-off, Hobbs & Shaw.

Johnson also went on stage during the Warner Bro’s presentation at the CinemaCon to show excitement about the two upcoming DC projects he will be seen in. The trailer for his live-action DCEU debut film, Black Adam, was also previewed during the presentation, which featured a confrontation between Black Adam and Hawkman.

DC League of Super-Pets is set to release on July 29 and Black Adam will open in theaters on Oct. 21 2022.
