James Franco And Anne Hathaway Will Host The 83rd Academy Awards

This year's Oscar hosts have now been announced. James Franco and Anne Hathaway will try their best to entertain you this year at the Academy Awards. It's a bit of an unexpected choice and these are the youngest hosts we've seen in a long time. Clearly trying to boost ratings, Academy President Tom Sherak is hoping that Franco and Hathaway will appeal to the younger crowd out there.

This year’s Oscar hosts have now been announced. James Franco and Anne Hathaway will try their best to entertain you this year at the Academy Awards. It’s a bit of an unexpected choice and these are the youngest hosts we’ve seen in a long time. Clearly trying to boost ratings, Academy President Tom Sherak is hoping that Franco and Hathaway will appeal to the younger crowd out there.

I don’t think either Hathaway or Franco are particularly great choices to host the show. There is also the problem of the possibility of Franco winning a best actor Oscar for 127 Hours. Can you imagine if he wins an Oscar during the very Oscar show he is hosting? That’d be…well…strange.

So ya, I’m not completely sold on this, they’re safe choices, but not the best choices. To be honest, the Oscars are always pretty boring, regardless of who hosts, so I guess it doesn’t really matter. It’ll be interesting to see how this year’s Oscar turns out though.

Tune in February 27th to find out!
