The Dark Knight Rises Will Run Close To Three Hours

Details continue to roll out regarding Christopher Nolan’s “Batman” conclusion and now AMC Theaters has posted its official page for The Dark Knight Rises, which lists the film’s official runtime at a truly epic 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Previous rumours had the bat-flick coming in at three hours long, so either that was referring to a rough cut of the film which has since been sliced down to a more reasonable length or that news was just wild speculation (or the wet dreams of fanboys).

With this announcement, The Dark Knight Rises will become the longest instalment of Nolan’s trilogy. 2005’s Batman Begins clocked in at 2 hours, 20 minutes and 2008’s Oscar-winner The Dark Knight ran at a beefy 2 hours, 32 minutes. AMC also announced it will run a “Batman” marathon on the evening of July 19 which will lead up to a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises – eight hours of Bruce Wayne anyone?

Following brand new footage revealed at the MTV movie awards, everybody is certainly atwitter about the gritty end of an era for Christian Bale’s Batman. So while you can now pre-order your tickets in select cities, remember, you still have to wait until July 20 for the actual movie.
