Set for a post-summer, September 21 release, the remake for futuristic actionier Dredd continues to roll out the images in the hopes of drumming up some interest ahead of a first trailer.

Karl Urban will play the titular justice-dealer along with Olivia Thirlby as his trainee Judge Anderson and Game of Thrones’ Lena Headley as the head of a terrorist organization selling a synthetic drug called Slo-Mo. Pete Travis (Vantage Point) will direct from a script by Alex Garland.

The 1970’s British comic was first adapted to the screen in the atrocious, over-budgeted 1995 Sylvester Stallone vehicle which played out as a tainted rip-off of RoboCop. Even though this revisit will be a remake nobody asked for, there is no way it can turn out worse than the original.

The production of this film has been troubled all throughout its shoot and more or less seems to be poised for a dump at this point in the wastelands of the early Fall. With Comic-Con approaching and a trailer yet to be debuted, it seems like that gathering of nerds and fanboys is a perfect place to unveil some footage.

Who knows, maybe it will turn out to be a little late-year treat. Are you excited at all for Dredd?
