‘The Mandalorian’ fans hyped for ‘Into the Spider-Verse’ director tackling an episode

Season three has perhaps the strongest lineup of directors yet.

The Mandalorian returns for its third season in just over a month’s time, and after last night’s trailer, Star Wars fans are fully hyped for the further adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu. Over the show’s two seasons we’ve seen a number of excellent directors take the reins, including Bryce Dallas Howard, Taika Waititi, Jon Favreau, Peyton Reed, and Robert Rodriguez.

Season three will be no different, and we now know who’ll be calling the shots. Returning are Dallas Howard, Carl Weathers, and Rick Famuyiwa, with Favreau helming the season premiere. The new additions are also turning heads: Minari‘s Lee Isaac Chung and Black Panther cinematographer Rachel Morrison will tackle an episode each, but it’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse‘s Peter Ramsey that has fans particularly excited:

After Andor‘s critical and audience acclaim, The Mandalorian suddenly has a major competitor for the best Star Wars show on Disney Plus. Fortunately, everything we’ve seen indicates we’re in for a good time in March. We’re desperate to find out what the scene involving Jedi in the trailer is about (Order 66?), and curious to see how Moff Gideon will return to the story.

The Mandalorian premieres on Mar. 1 on Disney Plus. We’ll be counting the days.
