Mila Kunis found Ashton Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon’s red carpet photos just as cringeworthy as you did

So it wasn't just us, then.

If you thought Asthon Kutcher and Reese Witherspoon’s red carpet snaps at the premiere of their upcoming film Your Place or Mine contained about as much chemistry as a brick and a stump, you’re not alone.

In fact, Kutcher’s significant other, Mila Kunis, shared a similar sentiment, according to an interview Reese Witherspoon gave the morning show Today. Kunis and Witherspoon have reportedly been long-term friends, however Whitherspoon only started getting to know Kutcher while shooting Your Place or Mine.

Witherspoon recounted an email she and Kutcher received from the Bad Moms star following their awkward red carpet appearance:

“She even emailed us last night. She goes, ‘You guys look so awkward on the red carpet together.’

It would seem, then, that the sentiment expressed by the multitude of Twitter reactions to Kutcher and Witherspoon’s red carpet appearance were justified:

The pair star together in Your Place or Mine, a story about two long-term friends who are polar opposites – one craves stability, the other thrives on change. The pair swap houses for a week, and during this time, they discover that their wants and needs may not be what they thought they were.

While the pair’s poses on the red carpet weren’t a particularly convincing pitch for Your Place or Mine, a leading theory may be that their performance may be so steamy that perhaps they had to keep a healthy distance from one another at the premiere to not draw any Mr and Mrs Smith-ish attention.

We’ll find out in just a few short days time, when Your Place or Mine lands on Netflix on Feb. 10, 2023.
