While there’s no denying that Leonardo DiCaprio is without a doubt one of the finest and most consistently acclaimed actors of his generation, it’s the Academy Award winner’s personal life that’s been raising more eyebrows than usual this week.
Everyone with an internet connection is fully aware that the Titanic star generally tends to discard his girlfriends when they reach the ripe old age of 25, but he’s skewed even younger for his latest alleged romantic dalliance. DiCaprio is reportedly dating 19 year-old Eden Polani, a questionably age difference if ever there was one given that he turns 50 in November of next year.
The most sobering comparison came when it was pointed out the gap is bigger than the one shared between The Last of Us co-stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, as well as Stranger Things surrogate father/daughter duo David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown.
However, what might sting DiCaprio the most is that even his beloved environment has turned against him, with Washington State’s Department of Natural Resources weighing in with what’s already an early contender for sickest burn of 2023.
DiCaprio has won plenty of praise for his activism and philanthropy over the years, but you know things have gone too far when the people responsible for maintaining the planet’s natural beauty in their local area have felt compelled to weigh in. That doesn’t mean it’s not hilarious, though, but it’s telling that even defenders of the planet have begun to turn against Leo’s penchant for a younger woman.
