Tyler Perry announces 'Mea Culpa' a new legal drama starring Kelly Rowland and his fifth film project for Netflix.

Movie mogul Tyler Perry is collaborating with Kelly Rowland to produce a new legal drama called Mea Culpa

According to Netflix, the film will tell the story of an ambitious criminal defense attorney, played by Rowland, who aspires to be made a partner at a law firm. To make their bosses take notice, they agree to represent an artist accused of murdering his girlfriend, but whose innocence is debatable.

The legal drama is the first collaborative effort of Perry and Rowland. The film boasts an exciting cast, including Trevante Rhodes (Bruiser, Bird Box), Sean Sagar (The Gentlemen), Nick Sagar (The Princess Switch), and RonReaco Lee (Nappily Ever After).

Mea Culpa marks Perry’s fifth project for Netflix. So far, he has delivered A Fall From Grace, A Madea Homecoming, and A Jazzman’s Blues, with Six Triple Eight, a World War II drama starring Kerry Washington, currently in production. A prolific filmmaker, Perry has made over 50 films during his career. Before his deal with Netflix, Perry was under an exclusive contract to produce scripted television series for OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network).

Rowland has been in the entertainment business since she was a teenager. The Grammy Award winner has been in the entertainment industry since she was a teenager. After conquering the music industry, Rowland began starring in film and television shows. She has appeared in films like Think Like A ManBad Hair, and The Curse of Bridge Hollow. She is the executive producer and star of the Lifetime series Merry Liddle Christmas.
