The impending return of Mando and Grogu has the Star Wars world abuzz, even as persistent fans of Gina Carano attempt to pull attention back to the defunct actress. She’s no longer associated with the Disney Plus series, but her former attachment to Mandalorian is urging the actress’ apologists to work their way back into conversations.

Even The Mandalorian isn’t enough to leech hype from The Last of Us, which continues to pull in a baffling number of viewers each week. The spectacular series is sidestepping accusations of “filler” as it looks ahead to its next episode, which promises a much darker storyline than we’ve seen so far.

Gina Carano’s short-lived attachment to the Star Wars universe prompts her name to arise with each fresh season of The Mandalorian, and this year is no different. The actress was on the rise when she first appeared in the popular Disney Plus series, but a series of controversial statements soon soured fans to the former mixed martial artist, and saw her fired from future seasons of the Pedro Pascal-led show.

Despite her many problematic opinions, Gina Carano still manages to maintain a few fans. Not many, of course — not even enough to help her more recent appearances rise above a measly 5.1 on IMDb — but just enough to keep her relevant in the right circles. These fans quickly rose to defend Carano ahead of Mando‘s season three drop, and attempted to turn the conversation away from Baby Yoda’s return.
