‘Daredevil’ Elektra actress ignites the Marvel fandom with Instagram post

It would definitely make the loss of Foggy and Karen more bearable.

Fans are fired up after Elektra actress, Elodie Yung, recently shared a post to her Instagram story that hinted at her character’s return in Daredevil: Born Again.

Yung is best known to Marvel fans for her appearance as the ruthless assassin in the second season of Netflix’s Daredevil. She shared a post from the official Daredevil Instagram account showing the cover of the final issue of a recent comic run.

Daredevil and Elektra share the cover in an embrace, and this has understandably raised a few questions as to whether Yung shared it to tease something more.

It’s a nice thought, but unfortunately, we have to burst that bubble. The post doesn’t really mean that Yung will be returning, it’s more likely that she’s just sharing it as a fan after playing the role in Daredevil and The Defenders, something responders were quick to point out.

Furthermore, the cast for the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again has pretty much been finalized. We know who’s returning and who’s not, and we’ve had to say goodbye to some fan favorites such as Foggy and Karen. Although we will be seeing Jon Bernthal returning as the Punisher and Vincent D’onofrio as Kingpin, so there is hope for the rest of the Netflix cast.

For now, there just doesn’t seem to be any room for Yung to return as Elektra, as much as we’d love to see it. Still, that’s not to say that there won’t be a place for her in the MCU in the future. After all, fans loved her as Matt Murdock’s on/off love interest, so we’re sure Marvel will find a way if there’s enough outcry, as long as it’s not the Jennifer Garner version.
