MCU maulers can’t get over the times Marvel heroes were way weaker than in the comics

Well, the multiverse does make anything possible.

Unlike fans’ previous gloating about the Marvel Cinematic Universes bold choices, maulers of the franchise are now quickly making their way back into their usual selves by criticizing the superhero universe with a slew of examples of its strongest heroes being way weaker than their comic book counterparts.

As far as live-action goes, the MCU quickly became a staple for bringing life into the motionless comic book sphere. In bringing some of its most overpowered characters to the big screen — capable of completely changing the notion of time and space and molding it almost at will — the cinematic universe catapulted the superhero presence more than ever before. Nonetheless, criticism has been plentiful as fans of the comics barrage the franchise with unspeakable truths. Most recently, some netizens have taken note that a few of the saga’s most powerful heroes are, in fact, much weaker in their cinematic versions.

Worthy of a thoughtful discussion, many Redditors jumped in at the chance of sharing the same thought that had been crossing their minds. As the original poster said, Spider-Man was previously defeated by Captain America in MCU’s Civil War — which would be an unlikely end result were the events to occur in the comics. The continuous question of “Who’s stronger?” comes up a lot when it comes to superheroes, but for the creator of that thread — and most of the users therein — it is almost obvious that Spider-Man would surely get his way while fighting Cap.

In another fan’s opinion, there was also absolutely no way Dr. Strange would be beaten by Spider-Man, as they defended their point by saying that an ex-Sorcerer Supreme wouldn’t easily be evaded — even by Spidey senses. Not only does the outcome not fit with what would likely happen in the comics, but other users also brought out that Strange’s abilities would also grant him a win against Wanda.

Ultimately, the endless debates of who is stronger or weaker were never Stan Lee’s intention while creating the universe. Rather, the comic book writer always emphasized all the nonsensical reasons behind the heroes fighting one another, with the exception of the obvious outcomes between heroes versus evildoers. One thing is for certain, though: no one can ever accuse the MCU of being predictable.
