‘Joker Karen’ is on a mission and she wants to speak to your supervisor

She's tired of your s**t.

Here’s two things you had no idea go perfectly together: “Karen” and The Joker. That’s right, “Joker Karen” is trending on Twitter, and there are some really funny posts to go along with it. Something tells me someone’s going to pitch a movie about this.

For background: a “Karen” is a stereotype for a middle-class white woman who loves to complain and talk to the manager about how the service she’s receiving is terrible. Adding Joker, the main villain in the Batman universe, to the mix only enhances the hilarity.

The whole thing originated with animator and comic book writer Gail Simone, who to her credit wrote a fair amount of Joker Karen jokes herself to get things rolling. The joke that really got things going was “Joker Karen wants to speak to Batman’s supervisor.”

Here are some other good ones from Simone:

  • “Joker Karen doesn’t have kids but still shows up to scream about communism at Gotham City school board meetings.”
  • “While visiting the Justice League Satellite, Joker Karen kept asking to see Black Lightning’s membership card.”
  • “Joker Karen says she can’t be racist because some of her best enemies are from the Dakota Universe.”
  • “Joker Karen says, ‘If they can arrest the Council of Owls, they can arrest ANYBODY.'”

This of course got the ball rolling and it didn’t take long for everyone else to start making their own wonderful Joker Karen memes:
