Stephen King takes issue with a classic movie being named the greatest of all-time

What is it, then?

Author Stephen King has a track record of blunt responses to actions and opinions he deems utter nonsense. One may as well recall the creative analogy that he used to get back at Twitter’s new and controversial owner, Elon Musk, when he compared him to the literary figure Tom Sawyer.

Recently, he has been treading a similar path, when he blatantly refuted a user’s opinion of the greatest movie ever made on Twitter. Turns out that the user is none other than the well-known writer Megan Abbott, who tweeted about Raging Bull being the finest ever made.

While her post was met with a litany of comments agreeing and disagreeing with this claim, King took the liberty to outright deny Abbott’s opinion with a firm and resounding response saying, “Sorry, no”.

King’s crude comment expectedly earned him a motley of responses from other users. While some disapproved of him for attacking an opinion that is purely subjective, there are others who concurred with his dismissal of the elevated status of Raging Bull.

There are many who agree with Abbott.

And the inevitable criticism of King’s attitude.

Fans are curious about what King would replace it with.

Numerous other options have been suggested.

Whether you agree with King or not is debatable, but in this view, fans are interested to know what the storyteller’s favorite movie is.
