Legendary actor Robert De Niro shocked the world after announcing that he welcomed his seventh child at 79.
As previously reported, the Goodfellas star shared the news during a recent interview with ET Canada while promoting his latest project, About My Father.
The film follows Salvo (Robert De Niro) as he crashes the weekend his son Sebastian (Sebastian Maniscalco) plans to propose to his girlfriend. During the discussion on May 9, De Niro was opening up about fatherhood when he corrected the interviewer that stated he had six children whom he shares his exes. The actor casually stated, “Seven, actually. I just had a baby.”
Although, at the time, the details regarding the mother of De Niro’s seventh child were limited, The Hollywood Reporter claims that the mystery woman could be the star’s longtime girlfriend, Tiffany Chen, based on a paparazzi video that was taken of the couple back in March. According to the publication, De Niro and a visibly pregnant Chen were having dinner with actors Billy Crystal and Harvey Keitel at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California. Following their meal, the group was seen exiting the restaurant.
De Niro and Chen have been romantically linked since August 2021, years after his split from his second wife, Grace Hightower. Despite the pair allegedly welcoming their first child together this month, news outlets report that De Niro and Chen, a martial arts instructor, met in 2015 when he starred in The Intern, where she had a minor role.
At this time, De Niro or his rep has yet to address or confirm any of the above, and it is unclear if he plans to.
