Vincent D’Onofrio’s words age like milk after picketers shut down ‘Daredevil: Born Again’

Another Marvel domino falls as writers continue to put their pens down.

As quickly as Marvel’s resident Kingpin Vincent D’Onofrio offered assurances that production on Daredevil: Born Again should be proceeding as planned (albeit without writers), the ongoing writers’ strike across the United States has shut down shooting on the hotly-anticipated Disney Plus series.

Mind you, at the time D’Onofrio did state the team’s intention to proceed with filming the series while keeping all parties happy, and that work on the show could stop if need be – the vibe he gave off at the time was, “so far, so good.” However, a source close to the show informed Deadline that a concentrated picketing effort at a shooting location has disrupted production on the show. In the wee hours of the morning, WGA East would go on to confirm that it has successfully shut the upcoming Marvel project down, at least for the time being.

This isn’t the only Marvel production which has gotten caught up in the chaos either, with some pick-ups for Wonder Man also getting interrupted by picketers. As the WGA’s campaign continues to escalate and drain the pockets of Hollywood’s biggest production studios, more and more big names are joining the rank and file writers on the picket lines – a recent inclusion being The Dark Knight trilogy and Oppenheimer director Christopher Nolan

Despite the strike action only beginning less than 10 days ago, it’s already caused a significant amount of chaos. Here’s all the other ways in which we think the ongoing WGA strike could impact the MCU
