A cult classic serial killer thriller with absolutely no rewatch value roots out the suspects on streaming

It's a great movie, but there's no point watching it twice.

Although movies like Fight Club and The Sixth Sense can be appreciated in an entirely different light once you discover the big reveal on your first watch, the same can’t be said about 2003’s serial killer Identity.

The entire narrative is so reliant on the third act twist to succeed, that viewing Logan and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny director James Mangold’s cult classic for a second time doesn’t have anywhere near the same impact. That’s a problem to affect many stories revolving around a jaw-dropping rug-pull late in the game, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth seeking out if you haven’t seen it before.

Loosely inspired by Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, 10 strangers end up holed up in a remote motel to try and ride out a nightmarish storm. However, the bodies soon start dropping with increasing regularity, leading everyone to turn on each other as suspicions deepen over who the real mass murderer is before things get so heated they end up saving the killer some trouble until there’s only one of them left standing.

Suffice to say, you don’t find out until the end, and it certainly isn’t who anyone was expecting. While Identity earned its status as an enduring favorite for a reason, it’s also fair to say that it doesn’t have any rewatch value whatsoever. Either there’s a lot of people in disagreement or the film is finding a brand new audience, though, seeing as FlixPatrol has named it as one of the most-watched titles on Rakuten.
