James Gunn shares which piece of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ merchandise he wishes was real

All you need is Blurp.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, James Gunn‘s MCU swan song (seeing as how he’s switching teams) is a huge hit and a satisfying conclusion to the very fun trilogy. One of the surprise breakout characters from that movie is the adorable Blurp, a Ravager pet that ends up being very important in the movie. Gunn, like the rest of us, wants some Blurp merch ASAP.

Gunn took to his main social media communication platform Twitter and retweeted a Marvel fan’s tweet about a real life Blurp action figure. It understandably has people really excited. We haven’t had an cute sci fi character for a while now, as Baby Yoda has made the transition to toddler mech Yoda (yes I know his name is Grogu, leave me alone).

“I wish this was real,” he said, with an accompanying sad face emoji. I get it. Blurp is cute as hell, I think we all want it to be real. Just a casual search will reveal people’s undying love for this furry cutie.

A lot of people think that Rocket is the main character of Vol. 3 — but is he?

How about a little fanart? Here’s Blurp and everyone’s other favorite superhero with a stone in his forehead.

What’s not to love?

This does seem like a huge missed marketing opportunity.

With all this attention, it feels like Disney should… listen to everyone. We want a Blurp plush, Disney, how hard could it be? If Disney figured out how to outfox Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, then surely it can oblige us with a furry reminder that all we need is Blurp.
