‘The Flash’ is flayed alive by SnyderVerse fans even as its final trailer bends over backwards to please them

WB should know by now there's no pleasing some parts of the DC fandom.

The Flash isn’t opening in theaters worldwide for another few weeks, but Warner Bros. has been continuing its unusually confident tactic of showing off the film ahead of time in a barrage of early screenings in the Los Angeles area. This may have earned it praise from such noteworthy names as Stephen King, but it’s only encouraging SnyderVerse loyalists to start gunning down this beginning of the end of the original DCEU in record time.

And yet it’s ironic that the latest Flash screening should be providing fresh ammunition for the SnyderVerse crowd when the film’s final trailer goes out of its way to please them. This promo, clocking in at 2:21 minutes in length, showcases a ton of fresh footage, including new material for three fan-favorite characters Zack Snyder ushered into the franchise. Check it out above.

Specifically, the trailer opens on a scene of Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) being fangirled over, only for none other than Jeremy Irons’ Alfred to summon him to the Batcave, where Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne is waiting for him. Meanwhile, at the end of the promo, we get a humorous moment where Barry attempts to explain away the billionaire’s car as an “uber” to love interest Iris West (Kiersey Clemons).

Of course, there’s also more from Michael Shannon’s Zod in the trailer, facing off against the Scarlet Speedster, his variant, Michael Keaton’s Batman, and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl. The trailer serves as a perfect reminder, then, that The Flash will definitely feature at least five SnyderVerse stars, with rumors of more appearing in cameos. What more can it do to please the old-school DCEU die-hards? You know, other than not wipe it entirely from the canon.

The Flash races into cinemas on June 16.
