Our first glimpse of ‘The Nun 2’ has already become a giant meme thanks to horror fans

The Nun? More like The Pun.

While we might only be at the tail end of May, it’s become clear that Warner Bros. is ready to roll out the red carpet for spooky season a little early this year. In doing so, the horror community has been rewarded with its first glimpse of The Nun 2 — the highly anticipated horror sequel which is set to terrify audiences this autumn. And while our first look at the spine-tingling project should leave us rattled with fear, horror fans with a true knack for comedy have decided to turn the entire ordeal into a gigantic meme.

Over the weekend, Bloody Disgusting’s official Twitter account revealed a minuscule moment from one of the film’s creepiest scenes. In one image, demon nun Valak is shown to be standing in a dark corner, seemingly waiting to mount an attack on Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga). But as scary as The Nun appears, horror fans took the golden opportunity to turn Valak’s stance into a gut-busting meme.

Childhood nostalgia at its finest.

We’ve all been there, right?

The things we do just to game.

Of course, with how ridiculously silly its predecessor was, it makes perfect sense as to why horror die-hards are already cracking jokes and making memes. That being said, with how frightening Valak looks at times, it also doesn’t seem fair to not give the film a chance to reach its full potential. Folks might be cracking jokes and laughing now, but it’s all fun and games until moviegoers are shielding their eyes out of fear in theaters this September.
