Freeform promises a ‘Cruel Summer’ with a mysterious season 2 teaser

'Cruel Summer' is reminding us to keep our friends close and our enemies closer...but what about frenemies?

It’s gearing up to be a Cruel Summer with Freeform, and a new sneak peek at season two of the intriguing and all-encompassing teen drama thriller is a reminder that trust is hard to come by, and you can lose as quickly as it’s handed to you.

The series is an anthology, and fans were somewhat shocked to learn that season two would be picking up with an all-new cast of characters in a new timeline. While there are many changes taking place, a critical piece of the puzzle is staying the same, the fact that the story will be told across three timelines. Lexi Underwood, Sadie Stanley, and Griffin Gluck lead the cast as Isabelle, Megan, and Luke, respectively, and will bring three chapters of a mysterious tale to life as hearts are broken, and lives are lost.

The new teaser sees Isabella catching Megan going through some of her personal items, including a passport with many stamps, which might hint at something sinister — if the eerie look on Megan’s face is anything to go by.

Having been caught, Megan rushes out as Isabella looks at her in frustration and with a sense of fear — it appears that season two will have even more deeply hidden secrets for fans to uncover.

For those eager to dive into this season’s big mystery, a scheduled release has been shared, and it looks like we’ll have a two-episode premiere taking place on June 5.

June 5 — “Welcome To Chatham” and “Ride Or Die”

June 12 — “Bloody Knuckles”

June 19 — “Springing a Leak”

June 26 — “All I Want For Christmas”

July 3 — “The Plunge”

July 10 — “It’s The End Of The World”

July 17 – “Confess Your Sins”

July 24 — “The Miseducation of Luke Chambers”

July 31 — “Endgame”

With interesting titles for each episode, it’s clear that the upcoming season will pack a major punch. So who lives, who dies, and who is left to pick up all the pieces? We’ll soon find out. For now, you can watch the first season of Cruel Summer on Hulu, with new episodes of season two premiering on Freeform on Monday evenings.
