‘Captain America 4’ confirmed to bring back a fan-favorite element we feared had been replaced

Bet you thought you'd seen the last of it.

There’s still a long way to go before the next Captain America installment graces theaters, but the hype for it is already huge. That’s not to say fans are pleased with everything the movie will bring, but at the very least, where Sam Wilson’s suit is concerned, they can breathe a sigh of relief.

Anthony Mackie, who has been playing the character since 2014, recently uploaded a behind-the-scenes photo on the set of Captain America 4, and by doing so, he might have revealed more than intended. While announcing the film’s reworked title was the whole point of Mackie’s Instagram post, a closer look at the monitor in the background reveals that the beloved suit from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be making a comeback.

As some fans have pointed out online, on the screen, we can clearly spy Sam’s original Captain America costume, with the shoulders and collar area covered in white. Yes, it looks a bit dirty and banged up, but there’s no mistaking it.

This is exceptionally good news for fans, who feared the suit had been completely abandoned for a new model when set photos of Captain America 4 surfaced online. Considering that Mackie is wearing a new costume in the photo he uploaded, it’s obvious that his character will still be getting a makeover, but at the very least, the white-accented suit has not been forgotten.

If fans had a say, the costume they saw in episode six of Falcon would remain Sam’s go-to, but we can’t always get what we want, for better or for worse.

Captain America: Brave New World is scheduled to premiere on May 3, 2024.
