‘I’m grateful to all the people who helped me through all these years to be on stage and not be naked’: Rosalía on performing fully-clothed

She appreciates designers helping her not have wardrobe malfunctions.

Popular pop singer Rosalía had a pretty incredible 2022. She won two Grammys and went on a world tour that touched on 15 countries. Her album MOTOMAMI is loved by critics and audiences alike and recently she got to appear on the hottest show on YouTube: Hot Ones, where she touched on what helped her feel confident on stage.

Host Sean Evans asked the singer about the outfits on her latest tour, which was a collaboration designer Dion Lee. “I imagine it was challenging to come up with something that had the motorcycle aesthetic but that you could also move around in and dance in.”

Rosalía’s motorcycle look from MOTOMAMI actually increased searches for motorcycle-related fashion and clothing, per Lyst. She said keeping that look going while she was on the road was “always a challenge.”

“[It’s challenging] trying to figure out clothes for a performance,” she said. “And I wish that it was much easier because it’s usually a disaster. You have to deal with shoes” that you can’t spin in or maybe there’a a malfunction and you end up “showing a boob,” she said.

That means there’s a lot of figuring it out and “there’s always a process” but she said she “feels very grateful that all the people who helped me through all these years to be on stage and not be naked.”

The singer’s charisma and personality really shine though during the interview and it’s pretty easy to tell why she has millions of fans clamoring to see her live. She seems way too approachable for someone that famous, but I guess that’s how people get famous – by seeming approachable in public. The whole interview is pretty charming and worth checking out.
