Selena Gomez’s new Instagram pictures suggest a new album is on the way

Our wait of 3 years is hopefully ending soon!

Tuesday just got better for Selenators who have been waiting for a new album from their favorite star. Selena Gomez wrapped filming season 3 of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building in April, which set the record for the most-watched comedy premiere in Hulu history. After completing filming on the show, the actress and musician reportedly took a flight home to Los Angeles to spend a week with her family.

Shortly after, Selena Gomez flew to Paris to begin filming on her new project Emilia Perez by the French director Jacques Audiard. However, the 30-year-old surprised everyone and sent fans into a frenzy with her pictures posing at a recording studio. The black and white images were captioned ‘Don’t worry guys, it’s coming. Even from Paris.,’ confirming that a new album is underway. Fans immediately took to the post and expressed their excitement for her comeback to music after three years.

Gomez announced her plans to work on a new album right after wrapping up Only Murders in the Building when she talked to The Wrap:

“I just wrapped my show and I’m spending one week with my family, and then I’m going off to Paris and then I’ll return to them but I’ll be working on my album at the same time.”

The speculation for a new album is almost confirmed. Her last album Rare was released in January 2020 and debuted at the top of the U.S. Billboard 200 and sold 112,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. It was her third straight-to-number-one album in the U.S. and also topped the charts in other countries, including Australia, Canada, and the UK, where it peaked at number two. As evidenced by fan reactions to the post, the new album is predicted to break records once more.
