A passionately discussed ‘Wednesday’ season 2 fan theory gets Netflix’s blessing — despite a lingering question mark

Members of the 'Wednesday' cast answered some questions at TUDUM to provide season 2 insights.

It’s been more than a few months since Wednesday season 1 ended and Wednesday season 2 was announced, but we’ve had precious few updates from Netflix.

At TUDUM today, however, several cast members of Wednesday sent in a video answering a few fan questions and teasing season 2 of the series. That’s right, Jenna Ortega, Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, and Hunter Doohan were on hand to promise fans that their burning questions would be answered in season 2.

“The story line is so top secret, even we don’t know what’ll happen,” Myers revealed. Luckily, fans did get some info that could be pertinent to season 2.

First up is the potential return of Gwendoline Christie’s Principal Weems. Though she seemingly died in season 1, the cast pointed out that the character was a shape shifter and could have potentially survived her ‘death.’ Special attention is drawn to a scene in the first season finale in which Lurch (John DeSantis), the Addams family butler, appears to have differently colored eyes.

The cast also teased that Doohan’s character of Tyler, who turned out to be the Hyde in season 1, was now under the thrall of Wednesday. Doohan mused that Wednesday might use him to do something devious — and now that the romantic plot line seems to be dropped, that might just be possible.

Lastly, the cast teased a new member of the Addams family joining the cast. Though Grandmama and Cousin Itt were specifically mentioned, it was not confirmed what character would be joining the series, nor was it confirmed who would be playing them. Keep an ear out, as more updates about the hit shows sophomore season are sure to unfold in the coming months.
