How to read ‘Ice Planet Barbarians’ in order

The icy world of Not-Hoth awaits.

Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarians series has been around for almost a decade, with the author cultivating a loyal fanbase by self-publishing her work. When Berkley Books took to re-publishing the series, though, the story became readily available to mainstream audiences, and with the rise of BookTok, the popularity of Dixon’s romance series met new heights.

Set on the alien planet of Not-Hoth, the books follow a group of women who became stranded in this ice-cold world. Mixing elements of sci-fi and erotica, Ice Planet Barbarians primarily focuses on exploring the developing relationships of the women with the Sakh, the large, blue extraterrestrial creatures that inhabit the planet. While this premise is a magnet for romance aficionados, the sheer amount of installments in the series can intimidate even the most avid of readers.

With 22 books and 11 short stories, it can be difficult for new fans to figure out how to read Ice Planet Barbarians in order. Fear not, though, because where there’s a will, there’s a way. All installments in the series are best enjoyed if read in order of release, and for that reason, we’ve compiled a list of all the books and organized them by publication date. For better comprehension, all the short stories can be found indented on the list.

In 2021, Dixon officially put an end to the Ice Planet Barbarians series, but that doesn’t mean the alien world has been completely abandoned. In the years since, the author has been dedicating her time to writing and self-publishing spin-off series, namely Icehome and Ice Planet Clones. Like all of Dixon’s creations, these can be purchased via Amazon, however, the first seven Ice Planet Barbarians books can also be acquired at Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Target, and other stores.
