Netflix’s newest rom-com will see a Marvel villain, a ‘White Lotus’ starlet, and an ‘X-Men’ mutant join forces

Adapted from the popular book 'The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight.'

What do you get when you combine the actors who played Titania, Portia and Angel together? A brand new romcom from Netflix called Love at First Sight. Titania, of course, is Jameela Jamil from She Hulk: Attorney at Law, Portia was played by Haley Lu Richardson in White Lotus, and Ben Hardy portrayed Angel in X-Men: Apocalypse.

The latter are two young hotties who hit it off in the airport, fall in love on a plane, and then by magical romcom circumstances are separated without knowing how to contact each other. Will they find each other? Of course they will! But it’s all about the journey, right?

Jamil is the narrator of the trailer, and she maybe plays a stewardess? Here’s the synopsis straight from the source material:

“After missing her flight from New York to London, Hadley (Haley Lu Richardson) meets Oliver (Ben Hardy) in a chance encounter at the airport that sparks an instant connection. A long night on the plane together passes in the blink of an eye but upon landing at Heathrow, the pair are separated and finding each other in the chaos seems impossible. Will fate intervene to transform these seat mates into soul mates?”

Seat mates into soul mates? Nothing like a little whimsical wordplay to whet your appetite for romance. The movie’s based on a “wildly popular” (per Netflix) book called The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, by Jennifer E Smith, originally published in 2011.

The romcom was directed Vanessa Caswill (Little Women miniseries) and also stars Rob Delaney, Dexter Fletcher and Sally Phillips.

Love at First Sight will be available for streaming on September 15.
