At the time, Michele and Monteith were officially dating for about a year prior to his passing. The couple met in 2009 when they received the roles of Rachel and Finn, the main characters and each other’s love interests in Glee. With their love transpiring from the screen to real life, the couple announced their relationship in 2012 and never stopped sharing their bond since then. In a twisted game of fate, another Glee co-star’s death was pronounced on the same day, exactly seven years after Monteith’s passing. Naya Rivera, who portrayed Santana Lopez on the musical show, disappeared on July 8, 2020, in a lake while on a trip with her son. Five days later, on July 13, her lifeless body was recovered from the treacherous waters. Every year in July, the Glee cast pays their tributes to both stars, and this year wasn’t any different.
Monteith passed away at the age of 31, and Rivera passed away at 33. Both actors are survived by their friends and family and will continue to pose unimaginably important roles in every Glee fan’s life, remembered by immeasurable influence in the television world that we know today.
