Wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?
Well, over the last few months, we already have. That sound I’m referring to is the constant stream of news involving the destruction of Dumb & Dumber To. First, we had news that star Jim Carrey was walking away from the project, then it was announced that the project was officially canceled.
But wait! Just when all hope was nearly dead, Hollywood.com reports that Jeff Daniels says the sequel to one of the most memorable and quotable comedies of all time may still happen.
We almost were able to kinda get it done this year, but they’re still working on the script. Jim wants to do it, I want to do it, the Farrellys want to do it… We’re all hoping that it’ll come together early next year.
If Carrey and the studio can come to some sort of compromise and get the project off the ground, fans should have no trouble forgetting about the emotional roller coaster that this sequel has taken us on. Plus, the film also has the potential to completely redeem the letdown that was Dumb & Dumberer.
I couldn’t articulate my thoughts on this news any better than Harry did when he said, “Just when I thought you couldn’t possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this… and totally redeem yourself!”
