The long wait for a Dumb And Dumber sequel may finally be coming to an end, as the Farrelly Brothers posted on Twitter that the script is almost done and the film will be titled Dumb And Dumber To.

It had been rumored for a while that the film would have that title, but there was no official confirmation until yesterday’s Tweet, which can be seen below.

You also might be interested to know that we are almost done with the Dumb and Dumber To (sic) script. I think you’re going to like it.

Well, they’re correct that we’re very interested to know, and hopefully they’re also correct in saying that we’re going to like it.

Fans that have been following the news of this film over the past few months know that it certainly hasn’t been an easy road to production, and just because a script is done doesn’t mean it’ll for sure happen.

First Jim Carrey was in, then he backed out, then Jeff Daniels said he was back in. There’s a good chance Carrey’s status may change again by the time the script is finished but hopefully he’s in it for good now.

The plot reportedly will be focused on a search for a son that either Harry or Lloyd fathered, in hopes of gaining a necessary kidney. Despite this somewhat serious story, Bobby Farrelly assured us that “there is no growth out of either one of them.”

Obviously this film won’t work without Carrey, so I hope he makes his involvement official soon. If he does indeed join though, this could be the worthy sequel that fans have been waiting far too long for.

Filming is set to begin in Spring of 2013. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on more updates as they arise.
