David Corenswet finally goes public with his wife after keeping their marriage under wraps

Superman star David Corenswet and his wife, Julia Best Warner, made their first public appearance as a married couple at the movie’s premiere. The event took place at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California on Monday, July 7.

According to People, the 32-year-old actor and his wife, who works as an actor and producer, walked the red carpet together. Corenswet wore a navy blue pinstriped suit with a blue and white shirt and matching knit tie. Best Warner chose a sleeveless sage green dress with a high neck, completing her look with simple jewelry and dangling earrings.

The couple, who got married in 2023 and welcomed their first child in early 2024, has been very private about their relationship. Corenswet described their relationship as a “slow burn” while talking to PEOPLE in June 2025.

In an interesting turn of events, Corenswet learned about his Superman screen test just two days before finding out his wife was pregnant. The couple kept both pieces of news secret for several months, sharing only with each other.

The timing of their personal life and Corenswet’s professional commitments created some unique situations. Best Warner’s due date was very close to when filming for Superman was scheduled to begin in 2024. Additionally, both husband and wife gained about 40 pounds during the same period, though for different reasons. Best Warner’s weight gain was due to pregnancy, while Corenswet’s was for his role as Superman.

The premiere was also attended by Corenswet’s co-stars Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult. Brosnahan, who plays Lois Lane in the highly anticipated reboot, wore a purple sequined Ralph Lauren gown. Hoult, who plays Lex Luthor, appeared in black leather pants and a double-breasted jacket.

Before taking on the role of Superman, Corenswet received support from previous Superman actors, with fans having closely followed his journey from Netflix regular to becoming DC’s new Man of Steel. He exchanged letters with both Tyler Hoechlin and Henry Cavill, though they didn’t give him specific advice. Instead, they offered words of encouragement and allowed him to find his own way with the character. The new ‘Superman’ movie will be released in theaters on July 11, marking Corenswet’s first appearance as the famous superhero.
