And the hits keep coming: Blake Lively lands yet another legal blow to Justin Baldoni as the scales tip in her favor

Baldoni's lawyer stressed that Lively's 'foot-stomping' shouldn't allow her control over the court.

A judge has ruled in favor of Blake Lively in her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni, allowing her to give her deposition at her attorney’s office rather than at Baldoni’s lawyer’s location.

According to Page Six, the Gossip Girl actress won the right to change the deposition location after her legal team raised concerns about potential paparazzi and media ambush. The deposition is scheduled for Thursday, and Baldoni’s team must provide a list of attendees by Tuesday at noon.

Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, strongly opposed the location change, stating that “Lively’s foot-stomping and use of her celebrity status may have enabled her to seize control of the film, which is the crux of this dispute; her counsel’s tantrum has no place in this Court.” Their team argued that their office was only a mile away from Lively’s lawyer’s office and that the change would limit their ability to discuss the deposition privately.

Freedman has stated that Lively will need to “provide evidence” for her allegations against Baldoni during the deposition. He mentioned that his team has emails, texts, and video footage to compare with her testimony, with Baldoni’s lawyer already releasing raw footage to challenge Lively’s claims.

Lively’s representative responded to the situation, claiming that Baldoni’s lawyer was trying to create a “public spectacle” of the case. The representative even alleged that the opposing counsel had suggested selling tickets for a televised deposition at Madison Square Garden, emphasizing that this was a serious matter of sexual harassment and retaliation.

The legal dispute began when Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of sexual harassment during the production of It Ends With Us and organizing a campaign to damage her reputation. Baldoni denied these allegations and filed a countersuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for extortion and defamation in January, seeking $400 million in damages while painting Lively as a star who exploited her power.

The judge has already dismissed Baldoni’s countersuit in June, and now, with this recent ruling on the deposition location, Lively’s team sees another victory in the ongoing legal battle. The deposition marks a significant step forward in the case, as it will be the first time Lively provides detailed testimony about her allegations under oath.
