‘Totally forgotten about the Epstein files now!’: Gavin Newsom can’t help himself after Trump tries to distract MAGA with Coca-Cola

Gavin Newsom knows Trump better than his MAGA cult.

Donald Trump is desperate to put all talk of the Epstein list behind him. The president is doing his best to distract from the conversation but unfortunately for him, it’s all people want to talk about. While Trump rambles about Coca-Cola, one of his biggest detractors, Gavin Newsom, isn’t letting him off the hook so easily.

Yesterday the president made a post to Truth Social where he informed his supporters that he had been in talks with Coca-Cola to start using real cane sugar in its drinks in the U.S. The company began using high-fructose corn syrup in the 70s as a cheaper alternative to the rising costs of cane sugar.  Of course, this isn’t really the issue people are talking about right now, despite Trump’s efforts to change the subject.

Gavin Newsom mocks Trump

Not one to miss an opportunity to drag the president, the California Governor took to X to give his witty response to Trump’s “good news.” Newsom won’t be letting him forget about the Epstein files which were promised prior to Trump winning the election.

Trump’s Coca-Cola achievement would seem pretty trivial at the best of times but considering the ongoing situation with the Epstein files, something which he is refusing to properly address, it seems like a rather pathetic attempt to distract and deflect. Well the president might be done with talking about it but nobody else is. Newsom’s remark reflects a sentiment shared by both Democrat and Republican voters right now.

One individual on X added, “Trump’s out here chatting about sugar cane with Coca-Cola like that’ll wash the Epstein scandal out of our minds.”

Trump is losing the plot over Epstein

The last week has seen the president become increasingly frustrated with the way people are reacting to the supposed news that there is no Epstein list. He’s even begun lashing out at his own supporters in a spectacular display of self-destruction. In a post to Truth Social he called those still demanding the list be released his “PAST supporters” showing just how quickly he is willing to turn on his own followers when they don’t agree with him.

Of course, Democrats like Gavin Newsom are relishing this opportunity to drill Trump on his blunder. It seems like a large portion of the president’s voter base are actually in agreement with figures like Newsom, in fact, the country feels more united than it has for the past six months and they’re united against Trump!

It’s safe to say that real sugar being used in Coca-Cola is likely at the bottom of people’s priorities right now. Besides, switching to a more expensive ingredient will likely only serve to make the refreshing beverage more expensive and during one of the worst cost of living crises this country has ever seen it’s difficult to see why this should be heralded as good news.
